About the Author: Laura Duksta
Laura knew from an early age that she was meant to travel the world, meet her brothers and sisters and spread the message of love! She has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland. She has extensive training in the fields of human potential and excellence that she incorporates into her programs. Though her greatest teacher has been the experience and life lessons learned through losing her hair at age 11 to a condition called Alopecia Areata. After wearing wigs for 19 long years she decided to set her self and her wigs free and became The Bald Chick! She know enjoys going into schools across the country and sharing how she learned to embrace the very simple but not always easy lesson of “Just Be Your Self”.
Laura is originally from Boston’s South Shore and now resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She wrote I Love You More for her nephew Tyler who lives nearby with Laura’s sister Lynn and her three other children Michaela, CJ and Mandy. I Love You More was first self-published with a lot of help from her mom, Carole who after teaching kindergarten for 38 years was more than happy to help Laura transition from being a bartender to a children’s author! Her dad still lives in Massachusetts but comes down to get out of the cold as frequently as possible. Laura loves living in Florida and also loves traveling to new places.
